Full description
The Dolomites are not just perfect postcards. They are a living place that knows how to welcome you. .. but also challenge you!
This survival day in the Belluno Dolomites is designed for those who want to go beyond classic hikes and learn how to really be in the mountains. Together with a survival instructor, you will learn how to build shelters, light a fire and orient yourself in nature.
A day to experience the Dolomites in the most profound way!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Lorenzago di Cadore (BL), in the Belluno Dolomites. Awaiting us will be our survival guide, who will accompany us throughout the day.
After a brief initial introduction, we will drive to the activity area, about 3 km from the village. Having parked the cars, we will begin a loop trek with several stages, during which the guide will introduce us to the area and the basics of survival and orientation.
During the morning we will move on to the more practical part: we will build emergency shelters using only natural materials available according to the season, learning how to assess the best place and priorities in a real situation. We will continue with fire lighting, experimenting with different techniques depending on the level of the participants: from the use of tinder to more advanced methods such as flint, pyrite or bow.
During the packed lunch, we will carve out a moment for wild cooking: we will gather wild herbs and prepare an herbal tea together around the fire, to slow down and experience the mountains at a different pace.
In the afternoon, we will dedicate ourselves to archery, alternating between static and moving exercises, and a first introduction to signalling and first aid in the mountains, with practical simulations. We will conclude the experience with a short debriefing and return to the cars.
The activity will last a total of 8 hours.
