Get away from your daily routine , disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and forget about sedentariness and comfort.
In this basic Survival course you will discover how to survive in extreme conditions, without technology, relying solely on your skills and what the environment offers.
In the evocative setting of the Pisan mountains, in Valgraziosa, you will challenge your limits and, in total immersion in nature, learn survival techniques that can come in handy in emergency conditions.
You will build a bivouac, light a fire and get food, awakening thesurvival instinct that dwells in all of us and you will discover that you have many more resources than you think!
What we will do
We will meet at 9 a.m. in Calci, a municipality in the Pisan mountains, a few kilometres from the capital. After meeting the guides, we will reach the base camp where the survival course will take place, via a trekking route of about 1 hour through the woods of theTuscan Apennines.
Along the way, we will learn and use orientation and map-reading techniques, indispensable for any hiker worthy of the name!
Once we arrive at the survival course area, inside the Santallago Estate, we will discover how to set up camp in a non-man-made environment, i.e. one that has not yet been touched and modified by man.
Everything we will learn and put into practice will also serve to re-train manual skills, which in a digital age like ours are slowly disappearing.
During the course of the day we will learn the basic elements of survival:
- lighting a fire;
- finding and drinkingwater;
- procuring food and making it edible;
- build a makeshift shelter in the woods;
- send distress signals.
This day of survival will give us a more "physical" and direct relationship with nature and will put us to the test, filling our baggage with new knowledge and awareness to be brought out at the most opportune moment!
The activity ends at around 15:30, for a total of around 6.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for anyone who wants to get involved, away from the comforts and conveniences of everyday life. The minimum age to participate is 16.
Other information
This activity can be carried out all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 8 participants.
Onrequest, a shuttle service is available within 30 km to reach the facility (max. 6 people). The cost varies according to distance: contact the organisers after booking confirmation to agree on this option.
