Full description
In an emergency, there are two types of people: those who shout, "We're doomed!" and those who pull out their compass and pocket knife, look at the group and say, "Don't worry, I'll take care of it."
After this day of survival in the Simbruini Mountains, guess which category you will fall into?
Amidst shady beech forests and western-movie glades, you'll learn how to cope when nature doesn't give concessions: orientation, fire-starting, emergency shelter and, to top it all off, a 6-metre rope descent.
Ready to get out your pocket knife... and your temper?
What we will do
The meeting with the instructor is at 9.30 a.m. in Livata (RM), in the heart of the Simbruini Mountains. After a brief introduction, we will move by car for about 5 km and then continue on foot to the point where the course will begin.
We will be immersed in a mid-mountain environment, surrounded by beech forests, shady glades and landscapes that look like something out of an old western film.
Our day will alternate between short trips and moments of theoretical-practical training: we will learn how to read the environment and orient ourselves without digital instruments, how to collect water and make it drinkable, how to light a fire even in less than ideal conditions, and how to build an emergency shelter with the materials available on site.
There will also be a lunch break, strictly packed, to recharge our batteries and enjoy the silence of the forest between activities.
In the afternoon, we will test our concentration and cold blood with a rope descent of about 6 metres, supervised by the instructor.
Return is scheduled for 16.00 hours. Between briefings, activities and transfers, the experience will last a total of about 6½ hours.
