Full description
If your survival instinct tells you that you should do this experience, listen to it!
Prepare yourself for 2 days in the wilderness of Valsesia in winter and acquire the techniques that will help you face challenges of increasing difficulty, together with a survival instructor.
From lighting a fire to setting up camp, from cooking outdoors to sleeping in a tent under the stars: let's see how you do!
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before 9: 30 a. m. at the meeting point in Alto Sermenza (VC), in the heart of Upper Valsesia. Here we will meet our survival instructor and start the day with a short introductory briefing: we will get to know each other, share goals and expectations about the experience.
From there, it will take about 30-40 minutes of walking to reach our base of operations: a secluded spot in nature and close to a stream. The first day will begin with an exploratory trek of about 1 hour through paths immersed in vegetation, to familiarise ourselves with the environment and train our senses.
Once back, the real survival activities will begin: advanced camp building, primitive fire-starting techniques, camp knots, and resource management. At lunch, we will prepare a trapper-style meal together, using camp cooking techniques.
The afternoon will be dedicated to the more introspective part: along the stream we will practise guided meditation and visualisation techniques, to face blocks, fears and rediscover our abilities.
In the late afternoon, we will test ourselves with activities such as archery, knife throwing or blowpipe, balance and cooperation exercises. Dinner will be prepared together around the fire, using ropes and equipment to learn to manage life on our own. After sunset, we will set off on an exciting night safari, equipped with torches and visors, in search of wild animals.
We will spend the night wrapped in sleeping bags, in suspended tents or on the ground with heaters for warmth. If there is snow around us, the experience will be even more intense and incredible!
The second day will begin with a shared breakfast. We will dismantle the base camp and take stock of what we have learnt. The experience will end in the morning with the return to the starting point.
The total duration will be two days, starting on Saturday morning and ending on Sunday.
