"Slow and steady wins the race. But above all - in the case of balsamic vinegar - it gets good for real!
At a vinegar factory on the outskirts of Modena, you will have the opportunity to discover a local excellence with a tasting of PDO and PGI products accompanied by Parmigiano Reggiano and ice cream. In addition, together with a guide you can visit the rooms of the historic barrels and immerse yourself in an atmosphere suspended between Lambrusco and Trebbiano vineyards.
A eulogy to slowness condensed into a 1. 5-hour experience!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the meeting point in Modena (MO), in the setting of the Emilian countryside surrounded by rows of vines. We will be welcomed by the guide in front of the vinegar cellar, decorated with a large themed mural, a sort of visual tale of the symphony between nature and tradition.
We will continue our tour entering the heart of the production process and go up to the hall of the historic barrels, where we will breathe in the scent of precious woods. We will then visit a second room with a large panoramic window: from here, observing the vineyards from above, the guide will explain the secrets of the production of the various PDO and PGI condiments.
At the end of the tour, it will be time for the tasting. Comfortably seated and using a dedicated spoon to appreciate the fragrance, we will taste saba (cooked must) and 4 types of PGI condiments. The tour will continue with the tasting of 2 PDO Traditional Balsamic Vinegars (aged 12 and 25 years respectively) and a selection of white condiments. To enhance the flavours, the products will be served in combination with Parmigiano Reggiano and ice cream.
The experience will last about 1½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children up to the age of 12 can participate in the experience at half price.

Dogs are not allowed inside the vinegar cellar, but may stay in the outdoor courtyard.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
