Full description
There is a reason the olive trees of Salento are called 'silver giants': they are the guardians of a heritage that smells of sea and history. Prepare to discover a historic masseria in Salento, a place where hospitality is a sacred rite and the extraction of oil is an art that has been handed down for centuries.
Here, you will have the privilege of tasting 2 types of EVO oil in a location that still shows the evidence left by the passage of millenary civilisations, monks and nobles.
A tasting that is not a simple aperitif, but a sensory journey into the heart of Apulian oil culture, designed for those who know how to recognise beauty in the details!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the historic masseria in Salve (LE), an oasis of peace surrounded by 40 hectares of olive groves.
We will be welcomed by the staff who will seat us for the guided tasting, which will take place on the splendid outdoor terrace or inside the structure's cosy bistro .
We will get to the heart of the technical part by tasting 2 types of the estate's EVO oil: we will start with the classic extra virgin olive oil, with its intense and fruity character, and then move on to the certified organic EVO oil, appreciated for its delicate and fresh notes. We will learn to recognise the organoleptic properties that make Salento oil unique. We will also be served an accompanying board consisting of crostini with homemade pâtés and local cheeses with honey and jams.
Before or after the tasting, we can take a stroll through the centuries-old olive groves and other areas of the estate, located among the archaeological ruins of the Canale del Fano and a history rooted in the 8th century, discovering the traces of Basilian monks and their rock carvings, and then admire the watchtower erected in 1577 by the Gonzaga family.
On request, it will be possible to supplement the experience by adding other typical dishes prepared directly by the masseria's bistro.
The experience will last about 45 minutes in total .
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, with no age limit.
Children may participate in the experience as accompanying persons by ordering non-alcoholic drinks or snacks directly from the a la carte menu in the bistro.
The facility is not accessible to persons with mobility impairments unless accompanied by an accompanying person, due to the historical and natural conformation of the site.

The experience is available from April to October.

Dogs are allowed during activities.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
