At the Lucchi & Guastalli oil mill in Santo Stefano di Magra (SP), you will visit Liguria's first closed-cycle production facility and discover the secrets of the local yellow gold.
A 2½-hour experience that will end with a technical tasting of oil and pâté, enriched by cheese, honey and a glass of local wine. An authentic journey into flavour and sustainability in the Cinque Terre!
What we will do
The appointment is at 2. 30 p. m. at the Lucchi & Guastalli oil mill in Santo Stefano di Magra (SP), in the frame of the picturesque hilly area before the Cinque Terre.
We will begin our tour inside the oil mill to take a close look at all the machinery and the stages of olive processing. During the visit, the functioning of Liguria's only ecological oil mill will be explained to us: a closed-cycle system where nothing is wasted, from the absence of added drinking water to the recovery of seeds for heating.
At the end of the tour after about 30 minutes, we will move to the tasting room on the first floor. Here we will be shown professional tasting techniques to correctly assess the quality of the oil. The tasting will include the tasting of extra virgin olive oil, accompanied by bread, different variants of olive pâté and a selection of cheeses paired with honey.
To make the moment even more enjoyable, everything will be accompanied by a glass of local wine, ideal for enhancing the flavours of the Ligurian land.
The experience will last about 2½ hours in total .
