Feeling a little noble inside? Then it's time to pay a visit to Cantina del Barone di Cesinali.
But don't expect wigs or castles: here, a walk in the vineyard on volcanic soils, a visit to the cellar and a tasting of Fiano di Avellino with a typical chopping board await you, to discover how family management and craftsmanship can create a wine of all respect!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at Cantina del Barone in Cesinali (AV), in the setting of an agricultural landscape dominated by vineyards and hazelnut groves. We will be welcomed by the guide, ready to introduce us to the world of Fiano.
We will begin with a walk through the vineyard, where we will observe the particular composition of the soil of volcanic origin, rich in minerals and skeleton. Here we will learn the values of the V. i. T. I. (Vignaioli in Terre d'Irpinia) network, based on artisanal viticulture that excludes the use of chemicals to preserve the integrity of the vine and the local microclimate.
The tour will continue inside the facility with a visit to the cellar premises. We will see the fermentation tanks and ageing areas, where the guide will explain how such a sunny and complex wine is obtained from a single variety of grapes cultivated with dedication.
The time will then come for a guided tasting of three glasses: we will start with a technical tasting taken directly from the cask, and then taste two different expressions of Fiano di Avellino in the bottle, appreciating its typical mineral note and freshness.
To complete the experience, we will savour a board of Irpinian excellences, with local cured meats and cheeses. It will be an authentic encounter with a single-vineyard wine that represents the excellence of southern Italian whites.
The experience will last about 3 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended for 18 year olds and above. Wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Any accompanying under-age persons may participate in the experience as 'chaperones' on request.
The activity is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the layout of the vineyards.
