Discover the authentic heart of Apulia with a walk among the olive trees in Ostuni and immerse yourself in the Mediterranean nature enjoying its colours, scents and flavours.
A specialised sommelier will accompany you among the thousand-year-old olive trees, telling you about the history and traditions of a sunny and welcoming land.
There will also be a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil to complete the sensory journey and fully appreciate Apulia's charm.
What we will do
We will meet up with the sommelier at 16:00 in Ostuni (BR ) and travel together to the site of the activity, a family-runfarm. Here we will be introduced to the tradition of Apulian olive oil production with explanations and descriptions that will immerse us in local life and customs.
We will set off on a beautiful walk among imposing and monumental olive trees: a true cultural and natural heritage. The unique view of these centuries-old and sometimes more than 100-year-old specimens will immediately open up before our eyes.
The area between Ostuni and Carovigno, in fact, is known as the'plain of the olive trees' due to the presence of millenary olive trees, probably dating back to thetime of the ancient Messapi, who lived more than 3,000 years ago.
Afterwards, together with a specialised sommelier, we will have a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil set up right under a centuries-old olive tree! If we wish, we can buy a bottle to take home the true taste of Puglia. A food shopper will guide us in the purchase of the products.
In total, the activity lasts 2 hours and ends with the return to the initial meeting point.
