There is a gulf that has been declaimed and deeply loved by artists who came here to find inspiration for their poems and literary works. Yes, we are talking about the Gulf of Poets, one of the most bucolic corners of the Liguria coastline.
Set out to discover this enchanting stretch with a private half-day excursion. On board a typical gozzo, you will sail towards Portovenere admiring the rugged coastline and picturesque villages along the way.
You will visit timeless places such as Monesteroli and fascinating islands such as Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. Get ready to set sail!
What we will do
Departure is from Manarola, in the province of La Spezia. Once aboard the gozzo Obelix, we will cast off our moorings and start sailing towards Portovenere.
On the way, we will admire the villages that colour the coastline: Monesteroli, Tramonti, Schiara are some of the most beautiful. We will also be able to listen to interesting stories and anecdotes about these places told by our skipper.
Turning our gaze towards Corsica, we will begin to scout the islands of Tino, Tinetto and Palmaria, not far from the coast but a treasure trove of biodiversity. We will circumnavigate them on board the gozzo to admire every detail.
We will then reach our final destination, the beautiful Portovenere with its iconic little church of San Pietro. Here we will stop to take a few photos and enjoy a dip in the sea. Since this is a private tour, the stops and their duration can be agreed with the skipper.
Finally we will return towards Manarola, for a total duration of about 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to all, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 2 participate free of charge.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible, but is accessible for those with walking difficulties.
Other information
The excursion runs from April to October and is aimed at private groups of up to 12 participants.
Theboat is called Obelix, a 9-metre gozzo with a shower, cushions, 12 seats in the cabin and a fridge to keep drinks cool. However, it does not have a bathroom, so it is advisable to go to the toilet before embarking.
Dogs are allowed on board.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
