Join a wonderful 2-hour trek in the Gran Sasso National Park in the company of friendly donkeys.
An environmental hiking guide will take you to discover some aspects of the agro-pastoral culture of the Gran Sasso and accompany you to a panoramic balcony.

What we will do
We will meet at the time selected during the booking process in Santo Stefano di Sessanio (AQ ), where the guide who will accompany us on this trek will be waiting for us. We will be ready to meet and make friends with Leandra, Dafne, Riccardina, Agnese and all the other donkeys.
After a briefing of about 10 minutes on the safety rules to be followed during the hike, we will be ready to set off on our adventure. We will walk along a ring-route of around 4 km in the impressive Gran Sasso National Park in the company of the donkey assigned to us: a single donkey will be provided for groups of 2 to 5 people.
During the trek, the environmental guide will take us to discover the Locce plain, explaining what these ancient caves are and what they were used for, and telling us the story of shepherds and farmers. After reaching our destination, a belvedere from which we will be able to admire the Gran Sasso National Park from above, we will take a short 15-minute break.
After this break, we will take the path again with our donkey to return to our starting point. The activity will last approximately 2 hours, including 1 hour and 45 minutes of walking.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 3 years of age; good walking habits are required to participate. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children up to 12 years of age and weighing up to 50 kg may ride on the donkey during the ride.

The activity can be booked throughout the year and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 4 participants.
There is an allocation of 1 donkey per group, from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 5 participants.
Any accompanying persons may remain at the centre.
Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash; they will walk in front of the donkeys so as not to frighten them.
