I don't want the moon, said Cornflower. But we do!
Reach Etna's sylvan craters from Catania, admire the lunar panorama and explore the lava caves for 5 hours in the company of your nature guide.
We'll take care of the transport. And a well-deserved tasting too!
What we will do
The meeting will take place at the meeting point in Catania, 10 minutes before the time selected during the booking process. We will be welcomed by our nature guide, ready to take us... to the moon!
We will set off from Catania to the volcano, beginning our experience with a stop in Zafferana Etnea, at alocal farm. Here a delicious tasting of typical Etna products awaits us: wine, oil, olives and honey, to savour the authentic flavours of the area.
After this pleasant introduction, we will board our vans to head towards the Valle del Bove belvedere. Here, our nature guide will tell us the fascinating stories linked to this valley and Etna, including the events of the famous lava flow of 1991.
We will then proceed to a lava flow cave, where we will wear a helmet and torch provided by the organiser to safely explore this natural wonder. The guide will explain the geology and history of the cave, giving us a deep and engaging experience.
After the cave adventure, we will stop for a coffee break at a refreshment point, where we will have some time to relax on our own. Finally, we will conclude our excursion with a panoramic walk among Etna's Silvestri craters, located at an altitude of 2000 metres . These inactive but suggestive craters will be the perfect setting to seal these unforgettable hours.
At this point, under a magnificent sunset, it will be time to re-board the vans for the return journey. The experience will last about five hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under the age of 3 participate free of charge: please inform the organiser in advance.
Participants are required to be in good health; the activity is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, heart disease, hypertension and dizziness.
It is possible to participate in the activity with buggies, if they can be folded up.

The activity is available all year round, and is confirmed on reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; parking is available on site.
The organiser offers a pick-up service at two further meeting points in the historical centre of Catania, which can be reached by public transport, and at meeting points outside Catania: contact the organiser in advance to arrange pick-up times and arrangements.
