Want to go to the moon but couldn't find a seat on Elon Musk's spaceship? We'll take care of it (and throw in a tasting too)!
Come to Catania and reach the Silvestri craters of the volcano Etna, admire the spectacular panorama and explore the lava caves for 5 hours in the company of your expert naturalist guide.
Buckle up: here we go!
What we will do
The meeting will take place at the meeting point in Catania, 10 minutes before the time selected when booking. We will be welcomed by our nature guide, ready to take us... one step closer to the sky!
Once on board our vans, we will set off towards the volcano. After about 50 minutes, we will have reached our point of interest, located at analtitude of 2000 metres. Here we can begin our exploration! We will enjoy a scenic walk of about 20 minutes among Etna's ( inactive, of course!) craters.
At the end of this first phase, we will stop at a refreshment point for a coffee break, which we can enjoy on our own. Afterwards, we will re-board the vans to reach another unmissable attraction: a splendid lava flow cave! To access it, we will wear a helmet and torch, provided by the organiser.
Our nature guide will tell us about the history and geological composition of these formations, before leading us to the next stop, the Valle del Bove belvedere. Here we will listen to stories about the valley and Mount Etna, going all the way back to the famous lava flow of 1991.
The last part of our excursion will lead us to Zafferana Etnea, for a stop at alocal farm: here we will enjoy a small tasting of typical products such as wine, oil, olives and honey from Etna.
At the end of this tasty break, it will be time to re-board the vans for the return journey, concluding our experience, which will last about 5 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under the age of 3 participate free of charge: please inform the organiser in advance.
Participants are required to be in good health; the activity is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, heart disease, hypertension and dizziness.
It is possible to participate in the activity with buggies, if they can be folded up.

The activity is available all year round, and is confirmed on reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.
Alternatives are available for people with food allergies and/or intolerances: please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to communicate your needs.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; parking is available on site.
The organiser offers a pick-up service at two further meeting points in the historical centre of Catania, which can be reached by public transport, and at meeting points outside Catania: contact the organiser in advance to arrange pick-up times and arrangements.
