Trekking in the Murgia Park in Matera is a spectacular experience, suitable for those who love nature, archaeology and long walks. A true discovery of the territory and the area surrounding the 'city of the Sassi', which will allow you to see the latter from a new perspective!
The 4 km route will follow the old mule tracks that farmers used to reach their fields: a true walk through tradition that will allow you to visit the famous prehistoric rock churches.
Once you have completed the itinerary and experienced the thrill of the Tibetan Bridge, you can take the shuttle bus to Matera to immerse yourself in the timeless charm of this ancient city. - Attention! The Tibetan Bridge will not be accessible by municipal ordinance until 1 June (unless extended).

What we will do
After meeting with the guide in Matera, we will head for the beginning of the trail. We will walk through theMurgico Plateau, a limestone plateau covered with typical Mediterranean vegetation.
In addition to its lush nature, this area is famous for findings of Neolithic villages with adjoining apiaries and rock churches. In fact, along the way we will visit ancient rock cenobi, archaeological finds dating back to prehistoric times, testifying to settlements dating back to the Palaeolithic period.
We will walk together across the wonderful Tibetan Bridge, a 22-metre-long suspended structure of wood and steel, which connects the Gravina Canyon from one side to the other. The 4 km walk is an easy route with an altitude difference of 19 m. - Caution! The Tibetan bridge will not be accessible by municipal order until 1 June (unless extended).
Finally, the shuttle bus (included) will take us to the centre of Matera to visit the marvellous Sassi, an enchanting setting, also known for having been the set of Mel Gibson's famous film 'The Passion'. The excursion will last a total of 3 hours.

The experience can be booked all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
