Enjoy a private trekking tour on Mount Etna to admire the fascinating volcanic landscapes made even more evocative by the lights of sunset.
ExploreEtna and its side craters, visit a lava flow tunnel and reach the Valle del Bove with a privileged view of the volcano's summit.
The tour will be led by a dedicated environmental guide who will reveal all the secrets of Europe's largest active volcano and take you to the best vantage points. Only for you and your group!
What we will do
We will be picked up at 15:00 at our accommodation in theCatania or Taormina area. By transfer we will reach Viagrande, a small municipality at the foot ofMount Etna. After meeting the guide reserved for our group and a brief introductory briefing, we will drive to the starting point of the trekking route. Already during the car transfer we will see the landscape gradually transform, leaving room for expanses of lava and ash.
The trekking route will take us to the crest of the Valle del Bove, the scene of Etna's best-known eruptions. This is anenormous volcanic basin generated by the sinking of two ancient craters. Thanks to the guide's historical and geological information, we will get to know it in detail.
Aspeleological exploration of a lava tunnel is also planned along the route. We will walk for about 4-6 km, reaching an altitude of2,200 m and covering an altitude difference of 300 m. The pace of the walk will be leisurely, with multiple breaks to admire the landscape and observe the surroundings.
In total, theexclusive activity will last about 5 hours.

This activity can be carried out all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
For children up to the age of 4, the tour is free of charge.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
