Full description
Walk along one of the most beautiful paths in the Phlegraean Fields until you reach Capo Miseno, a mysterious place on the extreme tip of the Phlegraean Peninsula.
You will be able to admire many species of birds that find their habitat here, so much so that the area has been considered a true bird sanctuary.
During theexcursion you will be kept company by incredible landscapes that will prepare you for the breathtaking panorama of the Gulf of Pozzuoli that you will reach at the end of the tour.
What we will do
We will meet in Bacoli, in the province of Naples. We will be welcomed by our guides and, after a briefing on the activity, we will set off on one of the most beautiful paths in the Phlegraean Fields.
The excursion will begin on the Miseno coastline, which will lead us to the slopes of Cape Miseno, which originated between 25,000 and 10,000 years ago. Numerous species of birds, both stationary and migratory, have settled here, creating a true Bird Sanctuary.
Amidst the holm oaks and Mediterranean scrub, we will ascend an ancient Bourbon path that will afford us a splendid view of Monte di Procida, the site of what remains of theancient Phlegrean Archi volcano.
What was once the nerve centre of the Roman fleet will open up before us, all the way to the peak overlooking the Miseno lighthouse. Here our visit will sweep over the entire Gulf of Pozzuoli, an inlet located near the city from which it takes its name.
Along the way we will visit the ancient Grotta della dragonara, a cistern dating back to Roman times. We will then descend along a path that runs along theinside of the crater mouth to the clearing before the lighthouse. We will then take the path back to our starting point.
We will walk for 4.2 km and the maximum altitude we will reach is 130 m above sea level. The total duration of the experience is approximately 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is of medium difficulty. It is suitable for everyone with a fair degree of physical fitness.
There is no age limit, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
