The Sardinian hinterland conceals infinite wonders. The half-day excursion to the Nuragic Village of Tiscali appeals to everyone because it combines different interests: nature, history and archaeology.
The Nuragic Village, the last bulwark of the late Nuragic peoples against the Roman advance, is an archaeological treasure hidden right in the crest of the mountain, in a suggestive corner of the Barbagie. Discovering it on foot with an expert guide will be aunique and fascinating experience.

What we will do
Departure is at 9 a.m. from Oliena, in the province of Nuoro . We will cross the wild and rugged Lanaitto valley by off-road vehicle, taking about 20 minutes to reach the base of the mountain.
At the foot of Mount Tiscali begins the trek that will take us to the Nuragic Village in about an hour and a half. This timeless place is located within Mount Tiscali and separates the Supramonte of Oliena and Dorgali. Discovered at the beginning of the 20th century, the Village is the ideal place to learn about the civitates Barbariae that populated the centre-east of the island in the Republican era.
The walk is 7 km long with an altitude difference of 350 m. Reaching the summit, we will cross a cleft in the rock, the only access to the doline, so narrow that, according to legend, a handful of archers could have stopped a legion.
We will walk among the archaeological remains, a place where time seems to stand still. We will discover theNuragic settlement, set in a huge dolina, which was originally a karstic cave, then the vault collapsed and the landslide was colonised by holm oaks, ash trees, wild olive trees, junipers, mastic trees and fig trees.
At the end of the visit, we walked down the road to return to the cars in about an hour. The return to the starting point is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The activity takes place all year round, weather permitting.
Small and medium-sized dogs may participate, but a leash is compulsory. If you wish to bring your dog, please inform your guide as soon as possible by contacting him/her using the contact details provided after the booking confirmation.
