Truffle hunting in the woods of Assisi

This experience has two strong points: the goodness of the truffle and the sweetness of the Lagotto Romagnolo.

If you too cannot resist both, you just have to participate in our truffle hunt: in the company of a truffle hunter and his dog, you will venture into the Assisi woods in search of this culinary delicacy.

An experience lasting more than 1 hour, to which you can add an aperitif or a light lunch or a truffle-themed lunch.

What we will do

I will be waiting for you at 10 a.m. at the meeting point in Assisi (PG). To welcome you there will be me, a truffle hunter, in the company of my Lagotto Romagnolo!

Once all the participants have been picked up, we will each board our own means of transport to reach the location of the experience; the transfer will take about 15 minutes. We will then reach a forest near Assisi, the setting for our truffle hunt.

On site I will give a brief introduction during which I will provide you with all the information you need for the activity. We will then venture into the natural setting, which is made up of plants that favour the proliferation of truffles: while we follow the dog at work, I will not fail to tell you about the varieties of this culinary delicacy, at what times of the year it grows, how the dogs are trained and many other curiosities. Once the truffle dog has sniffed out the presence of the 'treasure' and starts digging, you can help me extract it with a rasp!

Depending on the time of year, we will hunt for the truffle variety that grows in the month of the experience. If you wish, you can buy the tru ffle we have found together to have a tasty memento of the day.

The truffle hunt will last 1 hour; we will then return to the car park, for a total duration of 1 ½ hours.

If you select the"truffle hunt + aperitif" option, you can add an aperitif of cold meats accompanied by a glass of wine to the experience. By selecting the "truffle hunt+ light lunch" option, you will be able to add to the experience a light lunch in a truffle-themed restaurant that includes a starter, dessert, water and wine; by selecting the"truffle hunt + lunch" option, you will be able to add to the experience a lunch in a truffle-themed restaurant that includes a starter, main course, side dish, dessert, water and wine.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 10 and up; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The activity is not suitable for people with mobility problems; the experience will take place on a dirt track.

Other information

Attention! A transfer by own vehicle is required to reach the starting point of the experience; participants are invited to share cars.

The experience is available from January to December, with the exception of May and September.

The activity is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 4 participants. Participants will be divided into groups of a maximum of 20 people.

The meeting point can be reached by public transport; thestarting point of the experience cannot be reached by public transport, so it is advisable to come by your own vehicle and participants are invited to share cars. There is a car park at the starting point of the experience.
