This is how our truffle hunt in Canelli works, an educational and tasty 3-hour experience in the midst of nature, where you will learn all about these prized mushrooms... and then taste them properly!
Just a few kilometres from Alba, Asti and Alessandria, a walk through woods and clearings awaits you, in the company of trained dogs and an expert trifolau, in search of Monferrato's precious truffles. And at the end, a rich tasting with fresh truffles, typical products and local wine!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the meeting point in Canelli (AT).
We will be welcomed by Michele, or one of the trusted trifolau, who will tell us the story of his family and how this splendid reality dedicated to truffle hunting came into being. Today this land is home to a true natural oasis of over 300 trees dedicated to truffle hunting.
After a brief introduction, we will begin the educational search with Bill and Lightning. We will walk among poplars, oaks, hazels, willows and limes, in a varied landscape that changes according to the season and the areas in production. We will observe how the dog works, how it 'reads' the terrain and how it cooperates with the trifolau. This will be a walk of about 1.5 hours, adaptable to the level of the group, between flat areas, gentle climbs and small forest paths.
During the walk, we will learn to recognise the different types of plants, understand the difference between the various types of truffles and their seasonality (white, black winter, black summer), and learn more about the concept of truffle 'cru', just like in the world of wine.
At the end of the search, we will enjoy a guided tasting of about 1.5 hours at the facility (outdoors or indoors, depending on the time of year). We will taste fresh truffles on bruschetta with butter or robiola, local cold meats and cheeses, hazelnuts, jams and local vegetables, all accompanied by a glass of wine from the local cellars, water, coffee and grappa.
The activity will last a total of 3 hours.

The route is not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The experience takes place all year round.

Itis not possible to bring your own dog.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
