In Chieri, in the province of Turin, a truffle hunt together with a real truffle hunter and his trained dogs awaits you. You will walk along hidden paths, learn the secrets of this ancient tradition and experience the most exciting moment: when the dog starts digging. .. and the truffle comes to light.
Halfway through, there will be a special break: a typical Piedmontese snack prepared in the forest, with salami, bread, breadsticks, croutons with truffle pate and a good glass of wine.
A 2-hour experience that smells of nature, tradition and - of course - truffles.
What we will do
The appointment is in Chieri (TO), at the time selected when booking. There we will meet Cristiano, an expert truffle hunter, together with Lola and Kira, the truffle dogs: a champion pointer and a young lagotta in training. They will be the real stars of the day.
Once ready, we will set off in our car to the truffle ground where our adventure will begin.
Cristiano will guide us along a route of about 2 km, through woods, dirt roads and panoramic views of the Piedmont hills. As we walk, he will tell us the secrets of this ancient art: where truffles are born, how to recognise good soil, what species can be found in different seasons, and how to train a truffle dog.
The most exciting part will come when Lola or Kira sniffs something, points at the ground and starts digging. At that moment we will witness the real magic of the search, while Cristiano will show us how to extract the truffle without damaging it.
Halfway along we will stop at an area equipped with wooden benches. Here the trifolao will set up a typical snack: salami, bread, breadsticks and croutons, truffle pâté and a bottle of wine to share.
Once the break is over, we will continue for the last part of the search and then return to the starting point. If we wish, at the end of the activity we can also buy the truffle we have found.
The experience will last about 2 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 3 years old and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
The truffle trail is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. In the event of mobility difficulties, the guide can choose an easier and more comfortable route, so that everyone can participate without fatigue.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round except in May and September and is intended for private groups.
A snack is included in the fee; no alternatives are available for any food allergies or intolerances.
For those who wish, it will be possible to purchase the truffle found during the search on site.
It is not possible to bring your own dog with you during the truffle hunt.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; it is necessary to have your own car to reach the truffle ground.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
