Forget Sherlock Holmes: the real detectives here have four legs!
We are talking about truffle dogs, of course, and the 2-hour experience in the province of Imperia that will involve you in an unmissable search! Have fun discovering the secrets of the black truffle of Seborga together with an expert truffle hunter and find out how this precious fruit of the earth is found and harvested.
If you wish, you will also be able to buy the booty found!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Vallebona (IM) . After meeting the guide, we will take the car and drive the last 10 minutes of dirt road, which will take us to the activity location.
Once at our destination, we will immerse ourselves in a beautiful natural setting, populated by animals such as geese, guinea fowl and peacocks. Here the guide will explain how truffles are born and some curiosities about cultivated and natural truffles, and then introduce us to the friendly search dogs that will accompany us during the experience: Artù, a proud Italian pointer, and Menina, an agile pointer.
And after a few last details on how truffle dogs are trained and what characteristics they must have, we will begin the actual search on the grounds of the estate. Following the sniffing of the dogs, we will see how truffles are extracted without damaging them and learn to recognise the qualities of the prized black truffle of Seborga.
We will conclude the experience with 30 minutes dedicated to weighing the harvest. Those who wish will be able to buy the truffles they have found!
The activity will last a total of 2 hours, of which approximately 1 hour will be spent searching.

The experience is suitable from the age of 18.

The activity is not accessible with pushchairs.

Dogs are not allowed.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
