Warning: as you read the description of this activity, you may smell an irresistible scent of truffle.
Join our truffle hunt in the province of Siena: in the company of a truffle hunter and his faithful dog, you will venture into the woods of Armaiolo in search of this "treasure" of culinary tradition.
And to satisfy the palate too, you can add an aperitif or light lunch or a truffle-themed lunch to this more than 1-hour experience!
What we will do
I will be waiting for you at 10 a.m. at the meeting point in Armaiolo (SI). To welcome you there will be me, a truffle hunter, in the company of my faithful Lagotto Romagnolo!
Once all the participants have gathered, I will give a brief introduction during which I will provide you with all the information you need for the experience.
Then our truffle hunt will begin: we will venture into a forest of plants that favour the proliferation of truffles such as oaks, holm oaks and poplars. Step by step, I will impart to you all my knowledge and passion about the world of truffles: what varieties they are, at what times of year they grow, how dogs are trained, and many other curiosities. All this while following the truffle dog at work: when it has sniffed a truffle and starts to dig, you can help me extract it with a rasp!
Depending on the time of year, we will hunt for the truffle variety that grows in the month of the experience. And yes, you will be able to buy the tru ffle we will have found together!
The truffle hunt will last 1 hour; we will then return to the meeting point, for an experience lasting 1 ½ hours in total.
If you select the"truffle hunt + aperitif" option, you can add an aperitif of cold meats accompanied by a glass of wine to the experience. By selecting the "truffle hunt+ light lunch" option, you will be able to add to your experience a light lunch at a truffle-themed farmhouse that includes a starter, dessert, water and wine; by selecting the"truffle hunt + lunch" option, you will be able to add to your experience a truffle-themed farmhouse lunch that includes a starter, main course, side dish, dessert, water and wine.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 10 and up; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The activity is not suitable for people with mobility problems; the experience will take place on a dirt track.
Other information
The experience is available from January to December, with the exception of May and September.
The activity is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 4 participants. Participants will be divided into groups of a maximum of 20 people.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
