Fancy putting your love of heights to the test and getting up close to the rock?
The Gerardo Sega via ferrata in Val d’Avio takes you to discover one of the most thrilling rock faces in Trentino: accompanied by an expert mountain guide, you’ll make your way along a secured route lasting around 3 hours, overlooking the valley’s natural amphitheatre.
You’ll reach an altitude of 1, 000 metres, and the silence of the mountains will make every effort worthwhile!
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Avio (TN). Here we’ll meet our mountain guide, who’ll be ready to lead us step by step along the cliffs and paths of the picturesque Val d’Avio.
We’ll begin our excursion with an approach trek of about an hour and a half, which will take us to the start of the via ferrata. Once we reach the cliff face, we’ll be issued with the necessary technical equipment (helmet and harness) and take part in a briefing: the guide will show us how to clip the carabiners onto the steel cable and explain the basics of how to progress safely up the cliff face.
We will then set off along the Gerardo Sega Via Ferrata, an easy route that winds its way along spectacular rocky ledges at an altitude of around 1, 000 metres. During the 3 hours it will take us to complete the via ferrata, we’ll admire the incredible amphitheatre of the Val d’Avio, enjoying a unique vertical panorama .
Once we’ve finished the via ferrata, we’ll return to the starting point with a walk of about 1 hour.
The experience will last a total of around 6 hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for those aged 13 and over. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
To take part, you must be at least 1. 50 m tall, in good health and have a reasonable level of fitness.
The route is classified as easy and is ideal as a first via ferrata experience.

The experience runs all year round and will be confirmed once the minimum number of 3 participants has been reached.
Dogs are not permitted.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
