Full description
The characteristic village of Monteleone Rocca Doria, in the province of Sassari, is well known by climbers for its climbing routes. Here you will find a small but suggestive via ferrata: the Ferrata della Regina. Follow it together with an excursion guide and get ready to experience 4 hours of pure emotion.
Access to the route is via a beautiful path that starts right at the top of the village. The ferrata itself is very scenic because of the fantastic panorama offered by Lake Temo in the valley at its foot. Are you ready to start climbing?
What we will do
The appointment is at 8.30 a.m. at the Info Point located at the beginning of the small parking area dedicated to the ferrata, in Monteleone Rocca Doria. Here we will meet the excursion guide and have a 30-minute briefing to hand over the equipment and some climbing notions.
We will start by walking down the path that crosses the climbing routes to the start of the Ferrata della Regina, which can be reached in a 10-15 minute walk. Final recommendations... ready, set, go!
The route to be tackled will not present great difficulties, except for the start, a long, slightly overhanging staircase made of stainless steel cables, which will require some physical resistance in the arms to be overcome easily.
Once past this first section and the next vertical of steel steps, the route becomes more relaxing and we can catch our breath on a small ledge before setting off again to tackle the rest of the route. After several exciting passages, including a small Tibetan bridge, we will reach a wonderful panoramic ledge which will give us a respectable view over a large part of the valley and Lake Temo.
We will then gradually return to the end of the route. Afterwards, for those who are interested, the staff will be available for some brief demonstrations and sports climbing tests.
The total duration of the activity will be about 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is accessible to everyone from the age of 18. Good physical condition is required.
Other information
The activity is available all year round, every day, with the exception of May when it only takes place at weekends, and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
Attention! Please arrive 30 minutes before the departure time.
The excursion is conducted exclusively in Italian.
