Full description
Get ready for a day full of excitement, sport and nature in Trentino, where the mountains frame Lake Garda, making the panorama unique and breathtaking.
The via ferrata on the Rio Sallagoni is a simple section that is also suitable for those tackling this activity for the first time. It will allow you to safely discover a discipline that requires a little physical effort, but in return is capable of offering satisfaction and incomparable views.
You will cross the steep walls of a ravine, overlooking the turbulent waters of a real mountain torrent. To do this, the via ferrata route is equipped with stirrups, Tibetan bridges and other supports that make the passages easy and exciting.
At the end of the 'obstacle course', just like in a video game, the level will end with the conquest of the splendid Drena Castle. Ready for adventure?
What we will do
We will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Arco (TN), one of the characteristic villages belonging to the Alto Garda and Ledro Community. We will meet the Alpine Guide who will accompany us on the excursion and transfer by shuttle bus to the starting point of the via ferrata on Rio Sallagoni.
Over the centuries, the flow of water has created canyons, caves and gorges in the surrounding areas that are perfect for hiking and climbing. The sunlight that penetrates these gorges makes the panorama different from hour to hour, creating suggestive plays of light.
Before climbing the rock faces, we will be instructed by the guide on how to tackle the route, the progression techniques to be used and the safety rules to be maintained throughout the activity.
The via ferrata on the Rio Sallagoni is a fully equipped route that runs above the waters of the torrent in a succession of traverses, suspended passages and Tibetan bridges (one of which is about 10 metres long), within everyone's reach as long as they do not suffer from vertigo and are not afraid of heights and emptiness.
Balance, courage and endurance will always be required along the way, but they will go hand in hand with the emotions that the landscape will give us and with the joy of experiencing nature from a very special point of view!
As a final reward for all our efforts, we will reach Drena Castle, a Romanesque building of rare beauty, set like a pearl in the green of the surrounding mountains.
At the end of the ferrata, if necessary, the shuttle bus will take us back to the initial meeting point. In all, the activity lasts about 3 hours.
