Brewery visit with tasting of craft beers in Alto Mantovano

Not Luppolaiò. Not even Luppolagio. But simply Luppolaio, meaning the hop field that is still cultivated with love in this farm and brewery in the Alto Mantovano.

Here you will discover a  family business where  beer is made directly with the raw materials that grow in the estate's fields and where every step is followed from the inside, from roasting the malt to bottling.

A 2-hour journey that will end with a tasting of craft beers that you can enhance with a BBQ dinner!

What we will do

The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the Luppolajo farm, located in Castel Goffreddo (MN). Our guide will welcome us and will give us an introductory explanation outside, where cereals (malt, barley and hops) and the fruits with which beer is produced are grown.

After that, we will get to the heart of the production process, starting from the basics: water and malt! We will talk about balance, roasting and flavor management to make each beer unique. We will continue with the grinding process (we will see the mill in action), the filtering of the must, the boiling and the addition of hops.

At this point, we will go down to the cellar. Here the guide will explain how fermentation takes place with the yeasts and we will also be able to observe the brewing phase, up to the final labelling. Almost always, it will be possible to take a taste directly from the barrel.

Finally, we will move to the Tap Room, the tasting room. We will taste 4 types of 0.15 l craft beers to compare them (and to find our favorite, of course!).

If we have chosen the "visit + tasting + dinner" option, the tasting will take place directly during the dinner served at the table, consisting of a plate of barbecue meats.

The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone without age limits; beer tasting is reserved for adult participants. Minors will be provided with non-alcoholic alternatives.

The entire property is accessible by wheelchair as well as stroller.

The activity takes place all year round and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

Dogs are allowed in the common areas of the farm and in the tasting room, but are not allowed inside the production facility.

Gluten-free and lactose-free options are available for dinner , and if you have any food allergies and/or intolerances , please contact the facility at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to let them know. Gluten-free beer and cider are available for celiac customers.
