Discover a new way of interpreting the Montefalco territory at Tenuta Bellafonte in Bevagna, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
A food and wine tour awaits you, starting in the vineyards, continuing in the cellar and culminating in a tasting of 5 labels that you can enrich with a platter of local products and the estate's prized EVO oil!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at Tenuta Bellafonte in Bevagna (PG) in the setting of the Umbrian Valley. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will immediately take us to the beating heart of the estate: the Sagrantino vineyard, the most important on the estate, where we will discover the evolution of this famous cru.
We will continue with a visit to the winery, an extraordinary underground structure built of stone and steel in direct contact with the rock. Our guide will show us the natural winemaking processes, explaining how the underground air circulation maintains constant temperature and humidity. We will visit the fermentation area, where indigenous yeasts work without chemical intervention, and the bottaia, a natural cave where the wines mature in large Slavonian oak barrels.
The tour will continue with a tasting of five glasses, including Sperella Montefalco Bianco DOC, Arnèto Umbria Bianco IGT, Pomontino Montefalco Rosso DOC, Maestà Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC and the famous Collenottolo Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG.
By choosing the "tasting + tagliere" option, the tasting will be enriched by a platter of cured meats, cheeses and bruschetta topped with the house EVO oil, all served in the tasting room, overlooking the Pomontino vineyard.
The experience will last a total of about 1 hour/ 1½ hours .
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended for 18 year olds and above.
Wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Any accompanying under-age persons may participate in the experience free of charge or by paying for any non-alcoholic drinks.
The winery is wheelchair-accessible, while access to the tasting room has a slope for which we recommend you contact the winery in advance in order to better organise your visit.

The experience takes place all year round.
If you have any food intolerances or requirements, please contact the winery at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to communicate any needs (no guaranteed options are available for people with coeliac disease due to possible contamination of the premises) .
Dogs are allowed on the estate, but are not allowed on the winery premises; they can be left safely at the winery shop during the visit.
There is free parking on site for guests. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
