Has the idea of visiting an apiary been buzzing around in your head for a while?
In Fiesole, a stone's throw from Florence, you will be welcomed by our guides inside a botanical garden where you will be able to see the bees at work in their little houses and taste the best millefiori honey there is!
Aone and a half hour experience, suitable for young and old, to discover everything about the world of bees!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Fiesole (FI), where we will be welcomed by our guide!
Once all participants have gathered, the activity will begin with an introductory lesson during which we will learn how bees live in nature and how honey is collected and produced. In addition, we will have the opportunity to take a close look at the beekeeper's working tools (suit, smoker, etc.) and find out how they are used. This first phase will last approximately 1 hour.
Afterwards, we will move inside the botanical garden, where we will be able to observe the apiary in safety: the hives are in fact protected by plexiglass doors, allowing us to have a carefree experience. This second moment will last about 30 minutes.
At this point, it will be time to taste the fruits of our bee friends' labour! We will be taken to an indoor room for a tasting of wildflower honey accompanied by regional cheeses and a glass of wine.
Theeducational experience will last about1½ hours ; the duration of the stay for the tasting is free.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, children under 4 years old participate free of charge: contact the organiser at the contact details given in the booking confirmation email to advise of their presence.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parents during the activity.
The experience site is not wheelchair accessible.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
We recommend wearing the recommended clothing during the summer season.
Dogs are allowed during the experience.
