Full description
All the best of Lake Viverone, the third largest in Piedmont, can be found in this 2-hour horse ride suitable for intermediate riders.
Guiding you along the route will be not only our equestrian guide but also the ringing of the bells of San Martino Campanaro, the pair of Alberi Innamorati and the Palafitte di Azeglio.
What are we talking about? It's a surprise: come and find out!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Azeglio (TO), where we will meet our equestrian guide.
The experience will begin with a short briefing, during which the guide will review the basics of horse riding. We will then be ready to saddle up and take the asphalt road out of the riding school. Shortly afterwards, we will venture onto a dirt track and then into the forest.
The first attraction we will encounter along the way will be the pair of Loving Trees: two shrubs that join in an embrace, rising towards the sky.
We will continue along the horizon of the hills of Viverone, Alice Castello and Anzasco until we reach Lake Viverone. Legend has it that its waters guard a sunken village, whose bells can be heard when the wind blows from the Valle d'Aosta. The one who rings them is said to be San Martino Campanaro, the protagonist of the traditional nursery rhyme.
But this is not the only treasure that the waters of the lake conceal: there are also the remains of the Palafitte di Azeglio, an ancient pile-dwelling village dating back to the Bronze Age and consisting of no less than 5, 000 piles driven into the ground.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point, for a total experience of 2 hours.
