They call it 'red gold' and it is one of the most precious spices in the world! And you, do you know its history!
Discover lots of interesting facts about saffron with this experience in Chianti: you will walk through a saffron grove together with a guide who will tell you how it is grown and used, and then you can taste it at a brunch!

What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the time indicated on the calendar at San Polo In Chianti (FI) . We will be welcomed by the guide, who will offer us a welcome coffee or herbal tea and accompany us on an experience immersed in the rural landscape of Chianti.
We will then begin with a walk through the saffron grove (included) , during which we will discover many curiosities about this spice, called 'red gold' and used for centuries in cooking, medicine and for dyeing cloth. We will also learn more about the cultivation techniques used, with particular emphasis on the biodynamic method.
Finally, we will have a delicious brunch (included) starring saffron! We will taste bruschetta with local oil, pecorino cheese with saffron honey, and a seasonal hot dish (usually saffron risotto or soup) , all accompanied by water and Chianti wine.
This experience in contact with the scents, colours and flavours of nature will last a total of 4 hours and will give us an unforgettable immersion in the Tuscan countryside.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, regardless of age. Children under the age of 18 can only participate if accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.

The activity is available from April to November and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
