Ready to race against the tide with a tadpole?
Or climb mossy steps and overcome natural waterfalls. This is what awaits you by taking part in our water trekking experience in the Pollino National Park: in the company of an Environmental Hiking Guide, you will brave the waters of the Mercure-Lao river to discover the flora and fauna of the area.
An experience of over 2 hours, full of nature and adventure!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Viggianello (PZ). Awaiting us will be the Environmental Hiking Guide and Official Guide of the Pollino National Park, who will accompany us on this adventure!
Having gathered all the participants, the equipment will be handed over and we will get dressed. From the meeting point, there will then be a short transfer by our own means of transport to reach the location of the experience. Once at the destination, we will participate in a briefing in preparation for the activity, during which the guide will provide all the useful information for a carefree experience.
And here we are ready to venture into the waters of the Mercure-Lao River, in the beautiful natural setting of the Pollino National Park! We will go where the river's water flow is at its highest, having fun walking against the current. Along the way we will face natural obstacles such as steps and waterfalls, entirely free-body: adventure spirit and team spirit will be essential! In the meantime, the Environmental Hiking Guide will not fail to tell anecdotes about the flora and fauna of the area.
The experience will also be enriched by a small aperitif with taralli and a glass of wine or soft drink, again in the scenic setting of the Mercure-Lao river.
We will finish the route in about 2 hours. We will then return to the meeting point. The experience will last about 2½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 14 and up. Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
It is not necessary to know how to swim to participate.
The route is easy but requires agility and a spirit of adventure.

The experience takes place from April to October and is confirmed once the minimum number of 2 participants has been reached.
Duration and itinerary may vary according to hydro-weather conditions and participants' abilities at the guide's discretion.
Dogs are not allowed.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed-date booking and the weather conditions are not suitable for safely carrying out the activity (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be fully refunded. The guide may offer you an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to accept or decline these proposals. If you cannot reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
