If you’re looking to escape the daily grind, here’s your next getaway: Meleto Castle!
Come and discover this medieval fortress and let us take you on a guided tour amidst the scents of the woods and vineyards, followed by a tour of the castle’s halls.
A journey back in time that will end on the highest note: three glasses of Chianti Classico and a delicious light lunch featuring the very best of Tuscan specialities!
What we will do
The meeting point is at the selected time at Meleto Castle in Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena, set against the backdrop of the Chianti Classico region. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will kick off our tour starting from the open spaces of the estate.
We’ll stroll through the aromatic garden to discover the organic vineyards and the surrounding hilly landscape. We will then move inside the castle, whose origins are linked to the Benedictine monks of the 11th century. We will explore the evocative stately rooms, an authentic 18th-century theatre and the fascinating historic cellars, including the Vinsantaia, where the traditional Vin Santo is aged.
Afterwards, we’ll settle into the wine bar for a tasting of three of the estate’s finest wines : a vintage Chianti Classico, a Riserva and a prestigious Gran Selezione.
To accompany our toasts, there will be a generous light lunch: we’ll enjoy a seasonal cold first course (such as pappa al pomodoro, panzanella or homemade pasta) and a platter of Sienese cured meats (capocollo, prosciutto crudo, salami) and local cheeses, as well as the unmissable bruschetta with the estate’s own extra virgin olive oil.
The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total .
Who it is aimed at
This experience is recommended for those aged 18 and over, as the wine tasting is restricted to adults only.
Minors may take part in the experience as ‘accompanying guests’ at a cost of €30 for children aged 7 to 17, whilst entry is free for children under 6.
The venue is not fully wheelchair accessible: it is possible to arrange a private tour at an additional cost of €20. 00 for a personalised experience with dedicated staff.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
