The Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet on this boat tour in Salento: get ready to discover them both!
Set sail on a 3-hour excursion from Santa Maria di Leuca, where east and west meet. You’ll be able to admire the myriad caves that dot the landscape on both the western and eastern coasts, steeped in history and legend. And between dips in the sea, enjoy a snack on board.

What we will do
We will meet in Santa Maria di Leuca (LE), 30 minutes before the time selected when making the booking. Once we have boarded, we will set sail from the harbour with our skipper and set off to explore the many caves and coves that characterise the two coasts of Salento: the Ionian and the Adriatic.
To the east, on the eastern coast, we’ll be able to admire the fantastic views of Punta Meliso and the Santa Maria di Leuca lighthouse. Along the way, we’ll be able to see numerous caves from the outside, such as the Grotta Terradico, the Grotta Gabbiani, the Grotta Verdusella, the Grotta del Soffio, the Grotta della Vora and the Grotta delle Mannute.
We’ll then move on to explore the western side, which will allow us to admire Punta Ristola – the other headland surrounding Santa Maria di Leuca – the famous Grotta del Diavolo, Grotta Mesciu Gianni, the Fiume Cave, the Tre Porte Cave, the Presepe Cave and, finally, the Grotta degli Innamorati.
During the excursion, we’ll make two swimming stops of around 25 minutes each at locations chosen according to the weather and sea conditions. Between dips in the crystal-clear waters of Salento, a snack ( usually taralli) will also be served, accompanied by a drink of your choice (soft drinks, beer or prosecco) .
We will then return to the port of Santa Maria di Leuca after a tour lasting approximately 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The boat is not wheelchair-accessible, but staff can assist people with reduced mobility in boarding: contact the organisers via the contact details on your booking confirmation email to request assistance.

The tour runs daily from April to October, with a minimum of 2 participants.
The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
You will travel on a 7 to 10-metre motorboat or gozzo with safety equipment, ladder, cushions, awning covering half the boat and freshwater shower.
Small or medium-sized dogs may be allowed on board on request. Please contact the organiser after booking confirmation to check whether it is possible to take your four-legged friend with you on the chosen date.
No alternatives for snacks on board are available for participants with food allergies or intolerances.
The meeting point can be reached by car (free or paid parking on site) or by bus (bus stop 700-800 m away).

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
