Thanks to this experience in Genoa, you can become a beekeeper for a day, discover all the secrets of the hive, get up close to the world of bees and taste the honey they produce!
Get ready to make these pollinators your favourite insects!
What we will do
Please arrive 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Genoa (GE).
Our beekeeper guide will be there to welcome us to their apiary and begin this journey into the microcosm of pollinators. During a brief introductory session, we’ll learn why bees are essential to the planet and what we can do to protect them.
We’ll then put on our safety gear (provided) and watch as a beehive is opened. The beekeeper will remove a frame to show us the worker bees, the drones and, with a bit of luck, the majestic queen bee up close. And whilst we discover all sorts of fascinating facts about this world, we’ll be able to ask the guide as many questions as we like.
Once all our questions have been answered, we’ll take off our overalls and move on to the tastiest part of the experience: a honey tasting session lasting around 30 minutes! We’ll sample different varieties, including wildflower, chestnut and acacia, to discover their properties and differences. At the end, for those who wish, there’ll be the chance to buy honey and honey products directly on site!
The activity will last a total of one and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for children aged 5 and over. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The experience is accessible to people with mobility impairments. Please contact the activity organisers in advance using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know you will be attending.

The programme runs from March to September and is confirmed once the minimum number of 2 participants has been reached.
Dogs are not permitted.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
