Beekeeper for a day near Montefalco

They have trunks but they are not elephants. They have five eyes but they are not you when you are looking for a snack around the house. They take naps of a few seconds but they are not your daddy on a Sunday afternoon. Who are we talking about? Bees, of course!

Come to Montefalco and enjoy a 1.5-hour beekeeping experience on a farm, in the company of a real beekeeper who will explain the secrets of the magical world of bees.

And for a bit of sweetness... treat yourself to a taste of wildflower honey too!

What we will do

We will meet, 15 minutes before the time indicated in the booking, in Montefalco (PE). Awaiting us will be thebeekeeper, ready to guide us through our experience!

We will start by dressing, and then walk to thebeehive area inside the farm. The hives are located in an olive grove in an area shaded by oak and olive trees. Once we reach the beehives, we will put on the specific clothing (protective overalls and gloves).

We will learn, thanks to the precious advice of our beekeeper, how to turn on thesmoker, a special tool that, by stimulating the bees with the use of heat, prompts them to fetch honey inside the cells, revealing the entire fascinating process to our eyes.

While the bees are engaged in this operation, we will take the opportunity to observe them in absolute tranquillity. The beekeeper will then explain to us the life cycle of the bees and its stages, from the eggs of the first days to the larvae and the birth of the real bees. If we are lucky, we will also have the unique opportunity to see thequeen bee!

At the end of the activity with the beehives, it will be time for a small tasting of wildflower honey on the farm, to be tasted also in the special version accompanied by a delicious hazelnut cream. At the farm, it will be possible to buy honey.

The experience will last a total of one and a half hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from 3 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The activity is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Other information

The activity is available from March to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

Any accompanying persons may stay at the riding school during the activity. A bar service is available on site. It is not possible for accompanying persons to carry out the tasting only.

Leashed dogs are permitted at the riding stables. During the activity, dogs are not allowed near the beehives, but must remain inside the farm's enclosures .

Acamper van parking area is available at a cost of €25 per night. Contact the organiser after booking confirmation for more information.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. Parking is available on site.
