Have caves always fascinated you? Now is the time to set sail on a 1½-hour boat tour to Santa Maria di Leuca.
Sailing on the Adriatic side, you will discover numerous stories and legends, while the Grotta degli indiani (Indian Cave), Grotta dei gabbiani (Seagull Cave) and Grotta delle Verduselle (Verduselle Cave) will parade before your eyes.
And at the end, don't miss Grotta del soffio: you will be able to explore it from the inside, swimming with your guide!
What we will do
The meeting point is 20 minutes before the time indicated in the booking at Santa Maria di Leuca (LE). Here our skipper will be waiting for us, ready to welcome us on board the boat(boat or dinghy depending on availability).
Having set sail from Santa Maria di Leuca, we will pass Punta Meliso, the point where the two seas, Adriatic and Ionian, meet.
On the way we will visit several caves on the Adriatic side, listening to the skipper tell us interesting facts about the history and territory of Leuca. These will include the Grotta degli indiani, Grotta dei gabbiani, Grotta delle Verduselle, Cattedrale and Grotta del soffio.
The latter will be the perfect place for a 20-30 minute swim: those who wish can even venture inside the cave by swimming, together with the guide!
We will then return to the port after a 1.5-hour excursion.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Children from 0 to 2 years old do not pay: please inform the organisers at the contact details indicated in your booking confirmation email.
The boat is not wheelchair-accessible, but it is possible to request assistance for boarding persons with reduced mobility.

The tour takes place daily from March to November with a minimum of 2 participants.
The boat is a 7- or 8-metre dinghy or motor boat (depending on availability) with awning and cushions; fresh water shower is also available on some boats.
The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
Small dogs are allowed on board.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and by car. Free or paid parking spaces are available on site.
