Full description
If you want to win your friends over, offer them an unforgettable spectacle: the sunset over the sea at Santa Maria di Leuca! With this3-hour boat trip you can admire it while enjoying a delicious aperitif of typical Apulian products.
During the experience, you will sail along the Adriatic and Ionian sides of the coast, admiring the caves and stopping at some of them for snorkelling.
Fun and relaxation will not be lacking and the colours of the sunset will give you a unique view!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Santa Maria di Leuca (LE), where the organisers of the activity will be waiting for us. After an initial welcome, we will board the boat, a 6 m Cayman boat , and set off on our excursion.
The itinerary will include sailing along both the Adriatic and Ionian sides. Proceeding along the Adriatic side we will reach the Terradico Cave, also known as the Cave of the Indians and famous for its triangular shape.
Continuing along this route, we will encounter the Grotta dei Gabbiani, where water infiltration has eroded the rock and formed stalactites, and the Grotta Verdusella. Finally, we will go as far as the Grotta del Soffio (Breath Cave) and the famous Grotta della Vora (Vora Cave), inside which various plays of light are created.
Then, sailing along the Ionian side , we will reach well-known destinations such as the Grotta del Diavolo, the Grotta delle Tre Porte and the Grotta dei Giganti. The first one, for example, has become famous because of the sinister noises of the sea coming from inside, which inspired its name.
Finally, we will reach the Grotta del Drago (Cave of the Dragon), admire the rock formations that resemble the features of this mythological animal, and enjoy an aperitif (included) of taralli, chips, fresh fruit, soft drinks and typical Apulian prosecco. While relaxing on board the boat, we will watch the sun set over the sea, a spectacle that will tint the landscape red and make it even more fascinating.
During the excursion we will stop 4 times to swim in the sea and explore the waters of the area by snorkelling! Two stops will be on the Adriatic side, at the Grotta del Soffio and the Grotta della Vora, while the other two will be on the Ionian side, near the Grotta delle Tre Porte and some nearby caves. Each stop will last approximately 15 minutes.
The activity, including the above-mentioned stops, will last a total of 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children up to 3 years of age participate free of charge. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 may participate subject to signing a waiver by a responsible adult.
The boat is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.
Other information
The activity is available from April to October and will be confirmed on reaching a minimum of 2 participants.
The meeting point is not accessible by public transport, and there is paid parking available nearby.
The boat used for the activity is a 6 m long Cayman boat with a 40 HP engine and a maximum capacity of 8 persons. It is equipped with cushions, awning, sundeck, climbing ladder, freshwater shower, wifi and snorkelling kit. It is necessary to remain barefoot on board.
During the experience, an aperitif (included) with taralli, chips, fresh fruit, soft drinks and typical Apulian prosecco will be offered. In the event of allergies or intolerances, it will be possible to request an alternative by contacting the organisers using the contact details you will receive in your booking confirmation e-mail.
Small dogs are allowed on board the boat.
