Full description
Explore a different, more natural and authentic Salento on a half-day boat tour.
Aboard the comfortable Nereide, you will visit the wonderful caves of the Ionian Sea, including Grotta del Drago, Grotta dei Giganti and Grotta del Presepe, and admire Santa Maria di Leuca, the point where the Ionian and Adriatic seas meet in an evocative embrace of land, history and sea.
And Puglia is also about eating well and having fun, so keep some room in your belly for theaperitif of local delicacies offered on board!
What we will do
We will meet at the port of Torre Vado, where we will meet our skipper Giovanni, who will accompany us on this boat excursion. We will board the Nereide, an 8-metre boat that can accommodate up to 12 passengers, and cast off our moorings.
We will set off in the direction of the spectacular caves of the Ionian Sea, including the Grotta del Drago, Grotta del Presepe, Grotta del Fiume and the monumental Grotta dei Giganti. Each cave has its own history and beauty, which Giovanni will tell us with passion and expertise.
We will continue our excursion towards Santa Maria di Leuca, passing Punta Ristola, the extreme tip of the Salento peninsula, and passing Punta Meliso, the point where the two seas meet. Here we will enjoy the panorama that combines architectural and natural beauty like few others in Italy.
During the tour we will make two bathing stops and, for those who wish to snorkel, we will have on board integral masks for adults and children. The bathing stops, of about 20 minutes each, may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
To end on a high note, we will enjoy an aperitif with typical products of Salento cuisine, served in eco-friendly single-portion boxes and accompanied by prosecco, water, and lemon or peach tea.
We will finally return to the port of departure after about three and a half hours of excursion.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to all, with no age limit. Children aged 0 to 2 years participate free of charge.
There is a reduced rate of €30 for people with disabilities. Contact us to make a reservation.

Nereide is a traditional boat built by the prestigious Genoese shipyard Bianchi & Cecchi. It is 8 metres long and has every comfort, including comfortable seating, a small sun deck, a sun canopy and a shower to refresh yourself from the sun.
Dogs are not allowed on board.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund!
