If you love trekking and are mad about canyoning, body rafting is sure to win you over!
Venture into the Alcantara Gorges, one of the most fascinating places in the whole of Sicily, and walk upstream along the river between towering walls of lava rock and stunning panoramic views that would otherwise be inaccessible. Then let the current carry you downstream, diving into emerald-green pools and gliding past small waterfalls and foaming rapids.
A two-and-a-half-hour experience you’ll remember for ever!
What we will do
We’ll meet in Motta Camastra (ME), near the Alcantara Gorges, 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
On arrival, the guide will welcome us and give a briefing of about 15 minutes on the activity. We will then get kitted out, putting on our wetsuits, helmets, buoyancy aids and boots, before setting off on foot towards the entrance to the Gorges, about 150 metres away.
Once we’ve descended the steps, we’ll find ourselves immersed in the Alcantara Gorges and, Together with the guide, we’ll trek upstream along the river on a route lasting about an hour, surrounded by lava rocks eroded over millennia by the ceaseless flow of water and walls up to 25 metres high. The first 100 metres will be very easy to navigate, during which we’ll be able to listen to the guide’s explanations and admire some wonderful panoramic views.
We’ll then have fun scrambling through the rapids for another 500 metres until we reach the starting point for the body rafting descent: Lake Venere, an enchanting waterfall that marks the beginning of the Alcantara River’s turbulent course.
Now the most adrenaline-fuelled part begins! We’ll float down the river for about 5 minutes, navigating natural rock slides, small waterfalls and the river’s foaming rapids. At the end of the route, we’ll finally return to the starting point to get changed and say our goodbyes after about an hour and a half of adventure.
The activity will last a total of two and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for anyone who is at least 1. 30 m tall.
You do not need to know how to swim or have any previous experience of body rafting or canyoning, but you must be in good physical condition.
Other information
The activity takes place from May to September.
There is a changing room on site with toilets, showers and secure lockers where you can store your personal belongings.
There is also free parking on site.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
