Join us for an exhilarating 2-hour body rafting experience in one of Sicily's most evocative locations.
Nature always has new ways to make itself known and be discovered, such as the fascinating Alcantara Gorge in Sicily's Alcantara Valley. Between walls up to 25 metres high and up to 5 metres wide, the river flows between lava stones to form its characteristic riverbed. The famous and imposing gorge, more than 6 km long, is passable for the first 3 km in an easy way.
This wild river landscape and the canyon's characteristic volcanic walls are the ideal place to practice body rafting, a fun activity for discovering the water on your own body, without the aid of an inflatable boat, hydrospeed or anything else.
This excursion is perfect for you who love adventure, who want to test yourself and experience strong emotions in complete safety.
What we will do
The appointment is at the time selected when booking at Fondaco Motta in the province of Messina. After the introductions, I will hold a briefing of about 15 minutes where I will explain to you and the rest of the group the most important aspects of Body Rafting in order to practice it safely.
At the end of the mini-lesson, you will get dressed, wearing a wetsuit, helmet, and footwear. Immediately afterwards, we will reach the canyon entrance point together and here thereal adventure will begin.
We will ascend the course of the Alcantara river in a one-and-a-half-hour course of dips, swims, climbs and jumps. Afterwards, we will engage in the fantastic and fun body rafting descent, which means we will slide down the rapids of the river until we return to the starting point.
The excursion lasts a total of two hours, including briefing, dressing and route.
Who it is aimed at
The hike is suitable for everyone. There are no age limits, but you must be atleast 1.25 metres tall, have no limb problems and not exceed 120 kg in weight.
Other information
The excursion is available every day from May to October.
The free transfer from the meeting point to the canyon entrance will be by jeep or, in high season, on foot with a maximum travel time of 5 minutes.
Souvenir videos and photos are available for €5 per person to be purchased on site.
There is free secure parking. Free storage of personal belongings is offered.
