Canoe tour on the Tirino River

The River Tirino is an enchanted place, a clear, unspoilt watercourse known to be among the cleanest in Italy. Discover it on a pleasant 2-hour guided Canadian canoe excursion.

You will be in the heart of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park and together with our qualified canoe guides you will get to know an area rich in nature and tradition.

Thecanoe excursion on the Tirino is an activity also suitable for families with children, ideal for relaxing, admiring beautiful landscapes and having fun while respecting the environment.

What we will do

We will meet in the locality of Capodacqua in Capestrano, in the province of L'Aquila, and with the whole group we will move to the locality of San Martino, where the embarkation point on the river Tirino is located.

We will sail on board 3-seater Canadian canoes, on each of which two passengers plus an accompanying person will travel. We will be given a paddle so that we can take an active part in the navigation, but our task will be above all to relax and admire the beautiful surrounding landscape.

We will cross the cool, crystal-clear waters of the Tirino river, observing flora and fauna in search of some native specimens. We will have the opportunity to dive into the water - if it is not too cold - and to taste an edible plant that grows in abundance on the banks of the river: the water sedan.

The excursion will take about 2 hours for a 5 km walk and will end with the return to the starting point.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone from 1 year of age. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

A maximum weight of 100 kg is required to participate.

This activity is available from April to September.

Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point 30 minutes before the departure time.

Important: the participation fee includes a canoe for 2 persons plus accompanying person. Children up to the age of 5 with a maximum weight of 20 kg and a maximum height of 1 metre can travel in the middle of the canoe, seated between the two adults (maximum of one child per canoe, who therefore participates free of charge). In this case, you must report the presence of the child to the organisers after booking. Children aged 6 and over will occupy one of the two standard seats on the canoe.

Dogs weighing a maximum of 9 kg may be taken on board the canoe. Alternatively, a dog sitting service is available on site.
