Le pendici della Maiella sono un luogo ideale per scoprire la bellezza della natura in canoa o in kayak. A nord di Sulmona e a sud-ovest di Chieti si trova Bussi sul Tirino. Fare canoa nella Valle del Tirino permette di immergersi in paesaggi meravigliosi.
Il fiume Tirino, la cui etimologia significa “tripla primavera” e fa riferimento alle sue tre sorgenti (Capodacqua, il lago di Capestrano e Presciano), scorre solcando le province di Pescara e L’Aquila. Le escursioni in canoa in Abruzzo si concentrano principalmente intorno a questo limpido corso d’acqua. In alternativa a Bussi si può partire anche da Capestrano, per un’escursione indimenticabile in canoa nel Parco del Gran Sasso.
Un’escursione in canoa in Abruzzo ha prezzi relativi alla durata e alla tipologia. Ad esempio un’escursione con partenza da Capestrano, della durata di due ore e con numero da 1 a 15 partecipanti, costa circa 70 euro. Per un tour in kayak sempre sul Tirino, della durata di due ore e mezzo e occorrono invece circa 30 euro.
In alternativa per chi preferisce vivere l’esperienza in mare può optare anche per la costa dei Trabocchi. Per un tour in kayak con partenza da Ortona occorrono 70 euro per un gruppetto di partecipanti che va da 1 a 4.

Good morning everyone! I am writing this review with great enthusiasm because my experience was really positive, I went kayaking with my 14 year old son and he for the first time experienced this adventure in serenity without any difficulties because he was superbly looked after by all the guides. There are 3 guides along the route, 1 for every 3 participants, I would say almost pampered, and during the 2 hours there are stages where they explain curiosities about the territory and the vegetation of the Tirino river. Excellent organisation, a tour recommended to everyone and a team of numerous and exceptional young people. Congratulations!

In the description, it would be appropriate to inform that the first half of the activity takes place by rowing up the river Tirino. Paddling against the current requires a certain amount of physical preparation since one cannot stop for a break before reaching the predetermined stages. The guide himself admitted that many unsuspecting couples book and then argue because the girl is struggling upstream and the guy has a better pace. If you are a couple and you are not trained enough, consider carefully before booking.

After a briefing, we start the route up the River Tirino almost to the resurgences. The water is extremely clean and transparent with enchanting colours ranging from blue/blue to emerald green. The guide explained very well the characteristics of the place, the fauna and flora present and interesting historical notes. an experience to be absolutely done and suitable for everyone

it was a wonderful experience for the total immersion in the colours, scents and sounds that nature offered us as we crossed the silent river. our canoe guide, Sara, was pleasant company: she explained to us all the characteristics of the river, the area and the ethical purpose of the environmental cooperative whose mission we support. absolutely recommended!

The kayak excursion is well organised. The guide is well prepared. The environment is enchanting: the water is clear with different shades of colour, the underwater vegetation and the vegetation along the banks are beautiful, we were able to see various water birds. A bellissims experience
