Experience nature in the magnificent scenery of the canyon carved by the Marchetto torrent flowing through the rocks.
You can walk and swim in the clear waters coming from Mount Subasio near Assisi, in the province of Perugia.
Canyoning in the Marchetto torrent is an exciting and refreshing adventure, always in the company of... refreshing, always in the company of certified guides who will ensure your safety.
What we will do
We will meet at 10 a.m. near Assisi, at the point that will be communicated to us the night before via Whatsapp. Here we will get acquainted with the guide who will accompany us for the entire duration of the experience, and once the group is formed we will set off along a 15-minute, level path to the mouth of the canyon.
The guide will give a comprehensive briefing on safety rules and progression techniques to be applied during our activity. In the meantime, we will put on our neoprene clothing and harness.
Right from the start, we will be able to observe the terrain made of stratified rock and the unique landscape, different from that of other canyons, created by the Marchetto stream carving through the rock.
The route first offers a simple walk in the riverbed, then we will be able to enter a tributary, which is very beautiful to ascend in the first few metres. After a few minutes, the route becomes much more watery and scenically beautiful. When the canyon closes, the torrent offers views of unique beauty.
Once out of the canyon we can walk back to our cars, where we can change.
The route takes about 3 hours and the total duration of the activity is 4 hours, including transfers and briefing.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at everyone between the ages of 16 and 60. There are no particular restrictions, but participation is not recommended for people who are considerably overweight.
It is not necessary to know how to swim, but it is important not to be afraid of water.
Other information
The precise meeting point will be communicated the evening before the activity on Whatsapp, to the number given during the booking process.
The activity takes place every day from April to June and is confirmed when there are at least 8 participants.
During the activity, it is advisable to remove your glasses or provide yourself with a lanyard to reduce the possibility of losing them.
Long hair must be tied back during the activity.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
