Full description
Experience canyoning for the first time in the Sermenza torrent, a tributary of the Sesia river with impressive gorges.
You will venture along a 3-hour route that includes abseiling, diving from rocks and swimming in the current among the torrent's fantastic gorges.
You will thus experience an activity that is somewhere between aplayful experience, suitable even for children, and anadrenaline-filled canyoningexperience.
What we will do
We will meet at the canoeing and rafting centre in Balmuccia, in the province of Vercelli. On arrival we will be welcomed by the guide, who will provide us with the necessary technical equipment (included). Before setting off on the adventure, we will get dressed and have a short theory lesson, which includes dry trials and notions of aquatics.
We will then board the minibus that will take us to theriver entrance where the experience will begin. We will be accompanied on our adventure by the expert guide who will provide us with all the information on basic water descent techniques.
The route is designed for both adults and children and includes all the typical elements of canyoning. That is, we will experience the thrill of abseiling with a rope and diving from the rocks into the waters of the Sermenza river.
The route, which lasts two hours, is simple but no less exciting: the dives take place from fairly high rocks (up to 8 metres), but are optional for both adults and children. The activity lasts a total of 3 hours and ends with the return to the centre on board the minibus.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is aimed at everyone from 8 years old and up. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is simple and requires no special skills.
Other information
The activity takes place from July to September, weather permitting.
It will be possible to request a photo and video service (shared via memory stick) at a cost of €35 per raft, which can be paid for directly on site. Alternatively, it is possible to rent a GoPro for the same price to shoot video of the experience.
The centre is in a very convenient location for organising all the activities on the river and the time needed for travel will be very minimal. At the base there is a large green area equipped with picnic tables, barbecue, bar, beach volleyball and five-a-side football pitch. There is also a space for pitching tents, with toilets and hot showers.
