Canyoning in the Sesia Gorges - Balmuccia (VC)

Experience half a day of adventure with Canyoning le Gole del Sesia, an easy and fun route for those who want to approach this magnificent discipline.

We will face natural slides, called toboggans, jumps into pools of crystal-clear water and many other passages immersed in the beautiful setting of the Sesia with a very watery and natural course.

No canyoning experience is required, only good physical condition and sufficient swimming skills.

What we will do

Meet in Balmuccia, in the province of Vercelli. Here you will meet the Canyoning Guide, recognised by the Italian Rafting Federation (F.I.Raft), who will accompany you throughout the activity.

We begin with a short theoretical lesson and dry trials where the techniques we will use during the course are illustrated. We reach the point of entry into the river with the centre's minibus and finally begin!

We will pass through gorges carved by the passage of water, swim and jump into pools, ponds and magnificent waterfalls. This route is easy and suitable for beginners with no canyoning experience, but no less fun than others! Further enhancing the experience are the picturesque gorges in which we will venture, which characterise an unspoilt and spectacular place from which it is impossible not to be fascinated.

The excursion lasts a total of four hours, of which about two in the water. All technical equipment with high thermal protection is provided by the centre. At the end of the activity, we return to the centre where there is the possibility of taking a hot shower.

Who it is aimed at

Route suitable for everyone, adults and children from 12 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

No canyoning experience is required, only sufficient swimming skills. Participants must have no psychophysical contraindications to the sport and must comply with the Centre's regulations.

Other information

Like all river activities, canyoning is subject to the river's hydrometric conditions and therefore the route will only be confirmed if the water flow is adequate for the activity to be carried out safely.

The centre is in a very convenient location for organising all activities on the river, the time needed for travel will be very minimal. In the base we have a large green area equipped with picnic tables, barbecue, bar, beach volleyball and five-a-side football pitch. We also have a space for pitching tents, with toilets and hot showers.

The minimum number of participants is 2 persons. You can also book individually and will be placed with other groups.

It will be possible to request a photo and video service (shared via memory stick) at a cost of €35 per dinghy, which can be paid for directly on site. Alternatively, it is possible to rent a GoPro for the same price to shoot video footage of the experience.

In accordance with the provisions for the containment of Covid-19 contagion, a maximum of five people plus the driver may be transported on the minibus to ensure the necessary spacing.
