Canyoning for sporty people Sorba - Balmuccia (VC)

Put yourself to the test with Canyoning Sorba, an acrobatic and spectacular route of medium-high difficulty in the splendid setting of the Sesia.

We will spend half a day in the name of adventure and fun, juggling the obstacles formed by the river, which we will tackle in one of its most adrenalin-filled sections.

No canyoning experience is required, only good physical condition and sufficient swimming skills.

What we will do

We will meet at the Centro Monrosa in Via Roma 1, in Balmuccia, in the province of Vercelli. Here we will get to know the Canyoning Guide, recognised by the Italian Rafting Federation (F.I.Raft), who will accompany us throughout the activity.

Before launching ourselves to conquer the river, we will have a short theoretical lesson with dry trials and an aquatics lesson where the techniques to be used during the course will be illustrated. We will reach the river entry point with the centre's minibus and finally begin our canyoning!

We will walk along the course of the river, passing through gorges, launching ourselves into natural slides formed by the erosion of the water, known as toboggans, overcoming spectacular water slides and waterfalls by swimming and diving, and, at the most challenging points, we will abseil down the rocks.

This course is designed to guarantee the highest level of adrenaline and fun, there are dives of up to 8-10 metres in height and a very long and impressive slide, but above all it is a varied course that allows you to try all the specialities of this discipline! It is always possible to dose the difficulty according to the character of each participant: each obstacle can be tackled or circumvented, so as to please both the most heroic and the most timid!

The excursion has a total duration of 4 hours, of which about 2 hours in the water. All technical equipment with high thermal protection is provided by the centre. At the end of the activity we return to the centre where there is the possibility of taking a hot shower.

Who it is aimed at

Participants must have sufficient swimming ability, have no psychophysical contraindications to the sport and adhere to the Centre's regulations, which must be signed for acceptance. Minors must be accompanied by a supervisor and be at least 13 years old.

Other information

Like all river activities, canyoning is subject to the river's hydrometric conditions and therefore the route will only be confirmed if the water flow is adequate for the activity to be carried out safely.

The centre is in a very convenient location for organising all activities on the river, the time needed for travel will be very minimal. In the base we have a large green area equipped with picnic tables, barbecue, bar, beach volleyball and five-a-side football pitch. We also have a space for pitching tents, with toilets and hot showers.

It will be possible to request a photo and video service (shared via memory stick) at a cost of €35 per dinghy, which can be paid for directly on site. Alternatively, it is possible to rent a GoPro for the same price to shoot video footage of the experience.

The minimum number of participants is two people. You can also book individually and will be placed with other groups, the activity may be postponed if the minimum number (2) is not reached in order to ensure a smooth running of the activity.

In accordance with the regulations for the containment of Covid-19 infection, a maximum of 5 persons plus the driver may be transported on the minibus to ensure the necessary spacing.
