In the heart of Ogliastra, among the rocks polished by time and the crystal-clear waters of the Bau Mela torrent, a unique experience awaits you: canyoning!
A short but spectacular route, where the water has modelled natural pools, slides and marvellous waterfalls. With an experienced guide at your side, you'll launch yourself into thrilling dives, glide over smooth rocks and tackle small abseils.

What we will do
The meeting is at 11 a.m. in Villagrande Strisaili (NU), where our guide will provide us with all thenecessary equipment: wetsuit, helmet and harness. After a short 5-minute walk, we will reach the entrance to the canyon.
The water of the Bau Mela, which springs from the peaks of the Gennargentu, has carved natural pools among the granite rocks. This is where our adventure will begin: we will let ourselves be carried away by the current, slide over the smooth rocks and face small jumps.
We will also try our hand at abseiling, with the longest reaching 15 metres! But don't worry: the guide will always be by our side, ensuring maximum safety.
After about 2½ hours of fun and wonderful views, a short 5-minute ascent will take us back to the cars. Between the welcome, briefing, route and walking, the experience lasts a total of about 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is at an easy level and suitable for everyone from 7 years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
No previous experience is required to participate and it is not necessary to know how to swim, you just need to be comfortable in the water.
Other information
The experience takes place from February to November and is confirmed with a minimum of 3 participants.
The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport.
There are no showers, toilets or changing rooms on site; it is required to arrive already wearing a swimming costume, thermal shirt (optional) and wet sneakers.
A video of the experience shot with GoPro and edited by the guide is available at an extra charge of 20€ per couple or family.
