The moment you turn on your head torch, an underground world will light up before you!
This is what awaits you when you take part in our caving adventure: in the company of a guide, you will enter the Punta degli Stretti Cave amidst natural wonders such as stalactites and stalagmites. Not only will you learn about the phenomenon of karstification, but you will also be able to admire it with your own eyes.
The cave excursion will last 2 hours. This is because the route is interrupted, but if it were up to us we would continue exploring underground halls and corridors!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Orbetello (GR). Awaiting us will be the guide who will accompany us to the nearby starting point of the experience, each in his or her own vehicle.
We will then reach the entrance to the Punta degli Stretti cave, where the guide will hold a briefing during which he will give us all the instructions for the activity and distribute the technical equipment.
Our caving adventure will then begin: equipped with a headlamp, we will immediately cross a small freshwater lake that will lead us to a hidden tunnel. All around, countless stalactites and stalagmites in the most bizarre shapes! We will continue through halls, corridors and short swimming stretches until we reach the end of the 950-metre-long trail.
During the excursion, the guide will not fail to tell us stories, curiosities and legends about the amazing natural scenery in which we will find ourselves and the fascinating phenomenon of karstification!
The cave experience will last 2 hours. The total experience will last 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from the age of 7; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the excursion by an adult.
To take part in this activity, it is not necessary to know how to swim, but it is necessary to have a good aquatic ability; this is because there are short swimming sections along the route that can be tackled with the help of the guide.
The route is easy, exclusively horizontal and with a maximum height difference of 3 metres.
The route does not include any sections that might disturb those suffering from vertigo. The route can be walked standing or slightly crouching; due to the presence of narrow spaces, participation is not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed when a minimum number of 6 participants is reached.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
The duration of the experience may vary depending on the size and speed of the group.
During the hike, we recommend that you do not bring any personal items other than the necessary equipment, as they could get wet.
We recommend having ahearty breakfast in the morning as you will only be able to eat once the hike has started.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
