Full description
Have you ever tried breathing underwater? At first it seems strange, then it becomes natural!
With this Basic Diver course on the Island of Elba you will discover the magic of scuba diving, with two dives of increasing depth up to 12 metres. Accompanying you on this exciting descent will be a certified instructor and a lively marine fauna of groupers, bream, barracuda and curious octopuses.

What we will do
We will meet 15 minutes before the selected time in Portoferraio (LI). We will be met by our instructor, who will guide us step by step through this experience.
Before diving, we will participate in a 30-minute shore lesson, during which we will learn how to use theequipment, the basics of underwater breathing, and basic safety rules.
After the briefing, we will board a 9-metre dinghy equipped with a canopy and head to the chosen dive site, located in a marine reserve rich in flora and fauna in the waters of theIsland of Elba. The first dive will take us down to a depth of 5 metres, where we will become familiar with the equipment and experience the first movements underwater for about 40 minutes, alongside our instructor.
After this first phase, we will return on board for a relaxing break with sweet and salty snacks and soft drinks. Then it will be time to return to the water for the second dive of another 40 minutes, which will take us down to a depth of 12 metres. Here we will explore the seabed inhabited by groupers, bream, salps, barracudas, croakers and octopuses, getting closer to this extraordinary ecosystem.
At the end of the course we will receive theBasic Divercertificate , valid for 6 months and perfect for those who want to continue the course and obtain full certification with the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses.
The experience will last about 4 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone from 10 years old and up. Minors do not have to be accompanied, but an adult must sign the waiver before the activity.
You do not need to be an expert swimmer, but good health, good aquatics and confidence in the sea are required.
Scuba diving 24 hours before an aeroplane flight is strongly discouraged.
Other information
The activity is available from April to October, every day.
It will be possible to change at the organiser's location and leave your belongings in special lockers.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and has free parking facilities.

If you have made a fixed-date booking and the weather conditions are not suitable for safely carrying out the activity (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be fully refunded. The guide may offer you an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to accept or decline these proposals. If you cannot reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
