Spend a day in the midst of nature and the traditions of the shepherds of the Monti Lepini and let yourself be guided to discover the beauty of the area.
Explore the plains of Campo di Segni in total tranquillity and admire the landscape of theLatium Apennines while your guide tells you about local customs and stories.
A tour through nature and the flavours of this land: you will observe the local shepherds as they make cheese, taking part in the experience if you wish.
What we will do
The meeting is at 9:00 a.m. in Segni (RM). After getting to know the guide and the rest of the group, we will drive up to the area of the shepherds' huts in the Lepini Mountains. There we will begin the trekking tour through the pastures and plains of Campo di Segni.
We will walk on little-trodden paths, where we will be able to enter into full harmony with nature and the surrounding environment. The guide will tell us the history of these mountains and the traditions of the inhabitants, describe the flora and let us observe the wild fauna, in a true naturalistic journey through the Apennines of Latium.
Step by step we will rediscover the psychophysical well-being and harmony that only an experience in nature can provide. We will stop for a packed lunch overlooking the lake, and in the afternoon we will visit a mountain hut where we will watch cheese being made, with tastings galore!
The activity lasts thewhole day and ends with the return to the starting point. The route does not present any technical difficulties; it is 8 km long with approximately 100 m of altitude difference.

This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone from 12 years old and up.
Other information
This activity is available all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed when there are at least 6 participants.
It is possible to book a packed lunch based on local products (extra cost 10€) and anaperitif after the farm visit (extra cost 15€).

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
